McIntyre, Gertrude (1882? - 24 Sept. 1939)
Mrs. Eugene LaVerne McIntyre, 57, of 4317 North Stockwell Avenue, Milwaukee, passed away Sunday, September 24, at Columbia hospital.
Mrs. McIntyre underwent an appendectomy last spring which relieved the situation for a time and she was able to attend the graduation exercise in an eastern college several weeks later when her son was graduated from that institution.
Mrs. McIntyre will be remembered here as Miss Gertrude Kennedy, daughter of the late Daniel Kennedy, an early-day lumberman, who came to Clark County in the fall of 1866. Born and reared in Neillsville, Mrs. McIntyre was graduated from Neillsville high school with the class of 1900, completing her education in one of the state normals and taught school for a number of years.
She was a woman of culture and refinement, prominent in women’s club circles in Milwaukee and devoted to the interests of her fine home and family.
She leaves her husband and two sons, Robert E. and John K, her aged mother, Mrs. Lillian Kennedy and her sister, Miss Bessie Kennedy, former superintendent of schools in Clark County, now residing in Milwaukee.
Funeral rites were held Tuesday afternoon at 2, the remains being laid at rest in Forest Home Cemetery, Milwaukee.
