Harry Lencz, age 88, lifelong Lublin resident, passed away on Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, WI. Services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Assumption Russian Orthodox Church, Lublin, WI, with Fr. Ted Wojcik officiating. Burial will follow in the Holy Assumption Cemetery, Lublin, WI. Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 4-8 p.m. at the Plombon Funeral Chapel, Stanley, WI, with a 7:00 p.m. Parastas service to be conducted.

Harry was born May 18, 1916 in Lublin, WI, the son of Steven & Mary (Paraschak) Lencz. He grew up in the Lublin area and attended area rural schools. He then served his country during WWII in the U. S. Army from 1942-1946. He was then united in marriage to Pauline Shewczyk on October 15, 1946 at the Holy Assumption Russian Orthodox church, Lublin, WI. They resided in Lublin and were the owner-operators of Lencz’s Locker & Food Market in Lublin until 1979. They then retired and resided in Lublin with Harry moving to the Clark County Health Care Center in recent years. He had a life-long love of Baseball and played throughout his Army career and later playing semi-pro Baseball. He helped construct the baseball field in Lublin and also managed the local team for a number of years.

Harry is survived by his wife Pauline of Owen, WI, three sons: Gregg (Karen) of Withee, WI, Gary and Steve (special friend Diane) both of Owen, WI, five granddaughters and one great-grandson, one sister; Ella (Wally Welgos of Thorp, WI, two brothers: Frank (Mary) Lencz of Gilman, WI, and John (Toni) Lencz of Stanley, WI and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister; Teddy Burzynski and two brothers: Daniel and Michael Lencz.

Harry was an active member of the Abramowicz-Kacmarczyk-Cwikla American Legion Post #547, Lublin, WI of who are serving as pallbearers and are conducting Military Graveside Rites.

Plombon Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
