Holton, Ray D. (8 AUG 1882 - 7 JAN 1936)
Ray Durfee Holton, 108 North Third Av., a resident of Marshalltown, Iowa since 1932, died at one o’clock Tuesday morning at Deaconess Hospital after an illness of eight years, death being due to diabetes.
Mr. Holton was born in Ashland, Wis., Aug. 8, 1882. He was employed in the sawmills of Wisconsin for more than 30 years, and for more than ten years of that time was in the employ of the John S. Owen Lumber Co. of this city (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.), following his trade of saw filer. He did not leave here until the year that the mill finished its sawing.
He was married to Miss Bertha Jenny of Bemidji, Minn., in 1912. The family moved to Marshalltown, Iowa in the fall of 1932, after leaving Owen, Wis.
Surviving Mr. Holton are the widow, a daughter, Mrs. Earl Davis of Marshalltown, and two sons, Robert 16, and Richard 15, at home.
Funeral services were held at one o’clock Friday afternoon in Marshalltown, Rev. R. Stanley Brown, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, officiating. The body was cremated following the service.
