NEILLSVILLE MAN CRUSHED BY TRUCK
Slight Hope for Recovery; Brought to St. Joseph's Hospital
Slight hopes are entertained for the recovery of Dell Gillard, 62, of Neillsville, who is in St. Joseph's hospital today suffering five fractured ribs on the right side of his body, numerous punctures of the lungs, and internal injuries to the abdomen. Gillard was crushed beneath a five ton truck of gravel which backed over him while he was employed at road construction work near Loyal about 4:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The truck driver is said to have been Harry Frantz. The injured man was taken immediately to Loyal but refused to allow himself to be taken to a hospital. He was then taken to his home in Neillsville from where he was rushed to the local hospital shortly after 6 o'clock Thursday afternoon.
