At a 10 o’clock nuptial mass Saturday morning, Oct. 19, 1940, at Holy Family Catholic Church at Willard, Miss Hannah Pauline Francel, Chicago, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Francel, Willard (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Anton Joseph Kokaly, Chicago, son of Mr. Frank Kokaly, Willard. The double ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. J. Novak. During the mass, St. Mary’s Choir of Greenwood sang appropriate selections.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, and wore a white satin ankle-length gown, in princess style, with a sweetheart neckline, trimmed in seed pearls. Her sleeves came to a point over her hands, and satin covered buttons extended down the back to the waistline. Her long tulle veil was edged in Chantilly lace, and it fell from a tiara headdress of rhinestones. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses, asters, and chrysanthemums. Her only piece of jewelry was a pearl necklace.

Miss Hedwig Francel, sister of the bride, attended as maid of honor, wearing a floor-length gown of raisin colored taffeta with a matching headdress, and carrying a bouquet of pink and white chrysanthemums. Misses Theresa, Pauline, and Josephine Francel, sisters of the bride, and Miss Ann Kokaly, sister of the groom, were bridesmaids, in identical gowns of deep rose taffeta, with blushers to match. They carried large bouquets of pink and white chrysanthemums.

Patricia Jean Schnaitman and Barbara Ann Koschak, nieces of the bride, were flower girls, in floor-length dresses of deep blue, with little pancake hats of blue net to match. They carried bouquets of chrysanthemums.

Rudolph Kokaly, brother of the groom, served as best man, and Martin and Darwin Kokaly, brothers of the groom, and John Francel, brother of the bride, served as ushers.

Following the ceremony at the church, 100 guests attended a breakfast and dinner at the home of the bride’s parents. The home was decorated in pink, blue, and white streamers, with a large white wedding bell in the center of the room. The three tier wedding cake was baked by Miss Frances Lesar.

Mrs. Francel has been employed at Bloom’s Restaurant at Chicago for the past 10 years, and Mr. Kokaly works with the Inland Glass Company at Chicago. They will be at home to friends at 1606 N. Ogden Avenue, Chicago, Ill., after Nov. 1.

Out of town guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schnaitman and son, Francis, Mrs. Peter Reading, Mrs. Richard Reading, and Miss Mary Francel of Evanston, Ill.; Misses Mary and Mathilda Kokaly, and Lambert Butzon of Chicago.; Miss Avis Kokaly of Eau Claire; Miss Emily Kokaly of Wausau; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Francel Jr. and children of Abbotsford; Miss Marie Kunce of Neillsville; and Miss Sylvia Kokaly of Greenwood.

A wedding dance was held in Willard in the evening.
