Opdycke, Janice (14 JUN 1941)

In a simple ceremony performed by the Rev. F. Coats at 4 o’clock Saturday afternoon, June 14, 1941, at the Garfield Park Methodist Church in Chicago, Miss Janice Opdycke, oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.T. Opdycke, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Donald Hardrath, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hardrath of Loyal.

The bride was attired in a afternoon dress of white silk crepe with white accessories and a gardenia corsage. Miss Gertha Awe acted as maid of honor, wearing a beige dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink carnations. The groom was attended by Ernie Jabel.

Among those who were present at the wedding dinner at the Betsy Ross Café were the bride’s sister, Miss Fay Opdycke, Miss Awe, Miss Catherine Kitzhaber, Miss Marie Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Buckman Jr., and Joe DeDera.

The bride is a graduate of the Greenwood High School, class of 1935, and has been employed in Chicago for the past three years. The groom has been employed in Chicago for the past four months. They will make their home at 3347 W. Maypole St.
