Ned E. King, age 77 of Racine, died November 20, 2006 at Vidas Hospice, Milwaukee.
Ned was born August 6, 1929 in Neillsville, the son of Rob and Jessie (Stevens) King. Ned grew up in the Neillsville area and married Gladys Kopp of Neillsville on June 4, 1946, and raised five children. Ned worked as a Fur Rancher for most of his life. Ned was known for his hard work and dedication to his family. Ned retired in 1997, due to ill health.
Ned is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Gladys, his five children; Donald, Shirley (Al), Sherry (Tom), Karen, Dennis (Marge), all of the Milwaukee area. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Dimple Reise, of Yelm, WA.
Ned was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters and one son-in-law, Dennis. Ned will be missed deeply by his family and friends.
A funeral service for Ned will be held at 11 a.m., Friday November 25, 2006, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, Wis. Rev. Douglas Bjerke will officiate. Providing music will be Sharon Bjerke, organist. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday before the service. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers for Ned will be Andrew Reinhard, Darrin Jarentowski, Jason Jarentowski, Danny Chan, Scott Klingbeil and Chris Hite.
The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting with arrangements.
