Russell A. Houpt, of Neillsville Memorial Home, formerly of Granton, passed away November 17, 2006.
Russell was born February 17, 1917, in Granton to Fred and Leona (Hazeltine) Houpt, and grew up in that area. He was united in marriage to Pauline Ampe December 17, 1945. He was a World War II Veteran, serving in the South Pacific.
Russell is survived by two sons, Verland Hammer (Debbie Jungels); Roydean "Butch" Houpt (Lucia Parrish); three daughters, Marggo Young (Ray Reinart); Danna (Brian) Taylor; Pamela Mitchell (Larry Woods); four grandchildren, Tammy (Terry) Hohenstien; Kerri (Greg) Gillett; Shanon Young (Tami Scharf) and Kevin Young. He is also survived by five great-grandsons, Curtis and Joel Hohenstien, and Brandon, Jeff and Jerry Young.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline; his parents, Fred and Leona Houpt; and one brother, Harvey.
Memorial services will be held at 324 Oak Street, Granton, on Saturday, November 25, 2006 from 1-3 p.m.
