Maeder, Ruth J. (29 July 1936 - 30 Aug. 2006)

Wisconsin Rapids--Ruth J. Maeder, 70, of 418 Miller Ave., Wisconsin Rapids, died Wednesday afternoon, Aug. 30, 2006, at Riverview Hospital in Wisconsin Rapids.

A memorial service wil be held at 11 a.m. today at the Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church. The Rev. Tammie Rinker will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.

Ruth was born July 29, 1936, in Greenwood to Paul and Clarissa (Mason) Steele. She married John Maeder on Sept. 16, 1961, in Greenwood. The marriage ended in divorce.

She was employed as a teacher in the Marshfield and Wisconsin Rapids school districts from 1959 to 1967 and then worked as a storeroom clerk at Consolidated Papers Inc. from 1978 to 1998.

She was an active member of the Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church.

Survivors include two sons, Thomas (Laura) Maeder of Pocatello, Idaho, and their children, Donna Helena and Grace Noel, and Todd (Renee) Maeder of Brillion, and their children, Jacob, Collin and Hannah; one brother, Thomas (Karen) Steele of Wausau; and her in-laws, Gerald and Pat Maeder and Susie Wilhorn.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call at the Wisconsin Rapids Moravian Church from 10 a.m. on Friday until the time of services.

Taylor, Vollert and Jennings Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids is assisting the family.
