Reunited after 22 years …….
William Meddaugh and eight children together Christmas day for first time since death of Mrs. Meddaugh.
On Christmas day the family of William Meddaugh, including the only daughter, Mrs. Harry Kissling, of Granton, was reunited.
It was the first time since the death of Mrs. Meddaugh, 22 years ago, that all the children had been brought together. Following the death of Mrs. Meddaugh, the children were placed in various homes, with the youngest son, Robert, remaining with his father.
For members of the family the reunion on Christmas day held added significance; for Christmas also marked the birthday of Mrs. Meddaugh.
When the eight children met with Mr. Meddaugh in West Allis, 11 of the 12 grandchildren also were present. The only one missing was little Ernest Kissling, absent because he took part in two Christmas programs in the town of Grant.
At the time of the reunion a picture of the family group was taken. It was arranged so that a photograph of Ernest could be inserted.
Mrs. Kissling, a girl of 11 at the time of her mother’s death, lived until her marriage, with Mrs. George Bue, Mrs. Meddaugh’s only sister. Besides Mrs. Kissling and Robert, other children are: George, of Juneau; Neil, of West Allis; Alvick, of Bancroft; Lee, of Woodland; and Ray and Fay, twins, both living in West Allis. The eight children were born in the towns of Washburn and Sherwood.
