Jordan, Josephine M. (8 AUG 1942)

At a 9 o’clock Nuptial High Mass, which took place Saturday morning, Aug. 8, 1942, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), Miss Josephine Marie Jordan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Jordan, Greenwood, was married to Martin Ryona, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Ryona, Withee. The Rev. J.J. Novak officiated.

The bride wore an entrained gown of slipper satin trimmed with lace insets and styled with a sweetheart neckline and long sleeves which ended in points over the hands. Her fingertip veil was caught at the crown with seed pearls. Her jewelry was a three-strand pearl necklace, and her bouquet was of white gladioli and baby breath.

Her sister, Mrs. Frank Arch, Milwaukee, who was her only attendant, was gowned in rose colored taffeta with ruffles on the sleeves and at the hemline. She wore a hat to match and carried a bouquet of pink gladioli and baby breath. Around her neck she wore a gold locket and chain.

Frnk Arch, Milwaukee, served as best man. Music during the ceremony was given by the organist and by the church choir. The church was beautifully decorated with vari-colored flowers.

Breakfast, luncheon and dinner were served to 30 guest at the home of the bride’s parents. Those from away included Mr. and Mrs. Frank Arch, son Frank Jr. and daughter Jo Ann, and Joe Arch, all of Milwaukee; the Rev. J.J. Novak, Greenwood; Mrs. Leonard Geer and daughter, Judy, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Rhinold Schlock and family, La Crosse. In the evening a dance was held at Merry Ol’ Gardens at Longwood.

The bride, a graduate of Greenwood High School, attended Central State Teachers College at Stevens Point and taught in the Clark County schools for a number of years.

Following a trip to the Black Hills of South Dakota and to other points of interest, Mr. and Mrs. Ryona will make their home at Withee.
