Anna Podevels
COLBY -- Anna Podevels 98, of Colby, died Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006, at Colonial Center, Colby.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at Peace Lutheran Church, town of Frankfort. The Rev. Jeffrey Tarras will officiate.
Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Steve Manecke, Randy Manecke, Marc Fosterling, DuWayne Dahlke, Delmar Dahlke and David Manecke.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church.
Anna was born March 20, 1908, in Dana, Canada, to Francis and Ina (Kroeplin) Sellung. She came to Colby at the age of five with her family. They had moved to Montana for 10 years and then back to Colby. Anna and Eugene Podevels were married Dec. 15, 1928, in Milwaukee. He died Aug. 22, 1974. After their marriage, Anna and Eugerne farmed in the town of Hull for 46 years.
She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and active in the Ladies Aid and sewing quilts. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, knitting, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends.
Anna is survived by her children, Erma (Ed) Kaisershot of Marathon, LaVern (Audrey) Podevels of Tomahawk, Marie Dahlke of Colby, and Marjorie (Orville) Manecke of Edgar; 27 grandchildren, 56 great-grandchildren and 29 great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Margaret Grammer of Abbotsford, Wis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; four sisters, Marie Godlevski, Lena Janhke, Lorina Gatzke, and Alice Lord; and three grandsons, Ronald Kaisershot, Kevin Manecke and Shawn Podevels.
