Servaty, Charles (17 April 1860 - 24 Feb. 1940)

Charles Servaty, who passed away at his home at Fresno, Cali., in Belvidere, Ill., on April 17, 1860. He came to Neillsville with his parent when he was a boy.

On September 24, 1886, he was married to Emma Fricke of Greenwood, who survives him.

In January of 1903 he left Neillsville for Fresno, where he had made his home with the exception of a few years at Selma, California.

Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, Walter J. Servaty, of Fresno; four daughters, Miss Catherine Servaty, of Fresno, Mrs. Isabelle Rowan, of Tollhouse, Mrs. Avis Matthews, and Mrs. Frances Nilmeier, both of Kerman; a sister, Mrs. Katie Hinds, of Belvidere, Ill., and a brother, John Servaty, of Owen, Wis. Six grandchildren, Charles Stephens, Donald Matthews, Gerald, Craig, Bob and Barbara Janice Nilmeier, also survive him. He was a brother of the late Miss Julie Servaty, Mrs. Madeline Mick and his twin sister, Mrs. Marion Klopf, all of Neillsville, Wis.

Funeral services were held on February 27, with interment in the Belmont Memorial Park in Fresno, with Rev. Ralph S. Hamilton officiating. Graveside services were Woodmen of America, which organization he joined in Neillsville, in 1889.
