Cerne, Mike (7 SEP 1867 - 5 JUN 1943)
Mike Cerne, 75, who suffered a stroke five years ago and had been in poor health since that time, died at 4 o’clock Sunday afternoon at his home in the Town of Hendren (Clark Co., Wis.), 7 miles from Greenwood.
Mr. Cerne was born in Yugoslavia Sept. 7, 1867, and after coming to the United States lived for a time in Kansas before coming to Willard 28 years ago.
Funeral services will be conducted by the Slovenian National Benefit Society, Lodge No. 198, of which Mr. Cerne was a member, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Cerne home. Interment was made in the National Cemetery at Willard.
Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Joseph and Frank of Chicago and Mike Jr., at home; three daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Bessie) Cohara, Denver, Colo., and Mrs. Robert (Christine) Clark and Mrs. George (Tillie) Bodravatz, both of Willard; and seven grandchildren.
