Grum, Lillian J. (10 JUL 1946)
Lillian Josephine Grum, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Grum, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), exchanged wedding vows with Lyle Elmer Stafford, son of Elmer Stafford, Withee, in a ceremony read July 10, 1946, at 2 p.m., in the Grace Methodist Church at Greenwood. The Rev. lee Holmes officiated.
Attendants were Jeanette Vandeberg, Loyal, maid of honor; William Churkey, Owen, best man; Alice Vandeberg, Loyal, bridesmaid; Emil Piper, Withee, groomsman.
For her wedding the bride wore a white satin dress styled with a low fitted waistline, long sleeves, and an entrained net overskirt. Her fingertip veil of illusion was bordered in a scroll design, which matched the trimming on the dress, and caught to a headdress of satin flowers. She carried red roses and baby’s breath tied with French knots and satin ribbon.
The maid of honor wore pink net over taffeta trimmed with French blue velvet bows while the bridesmaid was dressed in a blue frock and matching headdress. Red roses formed their wrist corsages.
Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bridegroom’s sister, Mrs. Marvin Churkey, Owen, and supper was served to 30 persons. In the evening a dance was held at the Merry Ol’ Gardens.
Mrs. Stafford was graduated from the Greenwood High School this spring. The bridegroom attended the Greenwood school for two years. He is now engaged in farming on route 1 near Withee.
