Putzel, Lucee F. (26 APR 1947)

Miss Lucee Frances Putzel, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Putzel, Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Eugene Kenneth Ianke, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Ianke Sr., St. Louis, Mo., in a wedding ceremony performed in the Church of St. Paul at St. Louis, April 26, 1947. The evening ceremony was read by the Rev. Ervin H. bode. White flowers and lighted tapers decorated the altar and Eugene Fritsche Jr. sang "Through the Years," "I Love You Truly," and "The Lord’s Prayer."

Mrs. Frieda Hoeser, town of York (Clark Co.), a sister of the bride, was matron of honor; Miss Marvel Crumpocker, Monroe, Iowa, bridesmaid; Robert Ianke, a brother of the groom, best man; and Al Stosburg Jr., the groom’s brother and brother-in-law, groomsmen.

Both the matron of honor and the bridesmaid wore floor-lenth gowns of cameo rose crepe, fashioned with low oval necklines, cap sleeves, fitted bodices draped at the waistline to form bustles in the back, and long graceful skirts. They carried miniature muffs covered with blue gardenias and delphinium sprays, repeated again in the halo effect headdresses.

The bride wore the tradition white satin and chiffon wedding gown, designed with an off-shouldered neckline accented with a ruffled yoke of chiffon, long sleeves, a fitted bodice, and full gathered skirt bustled at the back and extending into a long train. Her circular veil, finger-tip length, fell from a Juliet cap of seed pearls. Her pearls were a gift from the bridegroom. She carried a large white orchid encircled with lilies of the valley and swathed with tulle. The fine linen and lace handkerchief she carried had been used as a wedding handkerchief by two previous generations of brides.

At 8 p.m. a reception for 120 guests was given in the Rathskellar of the Shangri Club at St. Louis. After a wedding trip to Wisconsin and Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Ianke are now residing at St. Louis. The bride was graduated from the Greenwood High School in 1942. During the war, the groom served with the famed 82nd Airborne Division.
