Edward Blanchard Funeral Held Sunday

Passed Away at Marshfield Hospital Feb. 17: Father of Kenneth Blanchard of Spencer: Resided Near Colby

Funeral services for Edward M. Blanchard, aged 83 years 1 month and 5 days, were held Sunday at the Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby, the Rev. Ferguson of the Methodist church in charge of the services.

The deceased died at the Marshfield hospital at 12:30 a. m. February 17,1944, the cause of death being an abdominal stroke.

Pallbearers were John Schaller, Frank VanSlett, I. M. Firnstahl, Henry Aderholdt, Wm. Beaver, and Ernest Gierl.

In charge of flowers were Marie VanSlett, Bernice VanSlett, and Roselyn Derhoof.

Out of town people attending the funeral were John Studer and daughter, Rose, of La Crosse; and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sorenson, of Medford.

Edward M. Blanchard was born Jan.12, 1861 at Janesville, Wisconsin. He was married to Maude Pendelbury at Ayreshire, Iowa; Dec. 25,1891 and they came to the Colby community in 1926. Three children were born to this union, all of whom survive but Mrs. Blanchard passed away in 1938.

Surviving are the three sons; Ray and George of Colby and Kenneth of Spencer, and seven grandchildren.
