St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal, was the scene of the marriage Saturday, May 20, 1949, of Miss Marilyn Joyce Bertz and Edward Bogdonovich, Chicago. The bride’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Bertz, route 2, Loyal.
Celebrating the 8:30 a.m. Nuptial Mass was the Rev. Aloys Zinthelfer.
The bride was gowned in white satin with a full skirt which ended in a train. Her veil was attached to a crown shaped headpiece and she carried a bouquet of pink and white carnations and pink roses.
Miss Colleen Bertz, sister of the bride, was maid of honor, and Mrs. Clarence Bushnell, Marshfield, another sister of the bride, was bridesmaid. They wore white satin gowns and carried bouquets of pink and white carnations.
Edward Panyon, Duluth, cousin of the groom, was best man, and his other attendant was Clarence Bushnell. Ushers were Robert Bertz and David Bertz, brothers of the bride.
Mary Ellen Bertz, Loyal, cousin of the bride, was flower girl in a white organdy frock. Her bouquet was of pink and white carnations.
The bride is a graduate of Loyal High School and attended Central State Teachers College, Stevens Point. The groom is a graduate of Greenwood High School and served in Japan for four years during World War II.
Mrs. Bogdonovich teachers in Owen, and Mr. Bogdonovich is engaged in the trucking business in Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.).
Following a wedding trip to Yellowstone National Park, the West Coast, and Canada, the newlyweds will reside in Greenwood.
Dinner was served to 75 guests in the church auditorium and a reception and dance were held in the evening.
Out of town guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Louis Lasar, and daughter, Barbara, Miss Agnes Lasar, and Robert Bogdonovich, Willard; Mrs. Myron Kenyon, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Humke, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Behrens, George Seliskar, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Bertz and children, Mrs. Elmer Lehrman, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart, and Miss Joyce Stoneburg, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Randall, Miss Inez Mertens, Miss Lucy Thompson, and Miss Iola Gorr, Owen; Mr. and Mrs. John Panyon, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Panyon, Ed Panyon, Duluth, Minn.; Miss Florence O’Reilly, Leonard O’Reilly, Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Strathman and son, Robin, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Harley Bushnell and daughter, Betty, Nekoosa; Mr. and Mrs. C.M. Bushnell, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sanford, Hillsboro; William Bertz, An Arbor, Mich.; and David Bertz, Richland Center.
