Arp, Emma (23 SEP 1884 - 25 AUG 1949)

Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.) - Mrs. Emil G. Arp, 64, a resident of the Town of Beaver, 7 miles northeast of Greenwood, the past 37 years, died at the Neillsville Hospital Thursday (Aug 25, 1949) at 8 a.m.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Dyre, and at 2 p.m. at the West Beaver Church. The Rev. Leo Chapman, Neillsville, will conduct the rites and interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Withee.

Mrs. Arp, the former Emma Gelhaar, daughter of the late Adolph and Elissa Gelhaar, was born in Scott Co., Iowa, Sept. 23, 1884, and lived in Iowa until coming to Beaver Township in 1912.

On Nov. 7, 1903, she was married in Iowa to Emil G. Arp, who survives with three children, Charles, Tellhouse, Calif.; Mrs. Erwin (Ethel) Marden, Neillsville; and Mrs. Kenneth (Leora) Dyre, Greenwood. Another son, Leo, and an infant daughter preceded her in death.

Other survivors are a brother, Ed Gelhaar, Carthage, Ill.; a half-brother, Erick Frahm, Port Morgan, Colo.; and nine grandchildren.
