Marvin Steevens, 77, Town of Mayville, Dorchester, died on Friday, Dec 1, 2006 at the Continental Manor Nursing Home in Abbotsford, Wis.
Funeral services were held Dec 5 at Peace United Church of Christ, Dorchester, Wis. Reverend Robert Everhard presided. Burial was in Dorchester Memorial Cemetery North, with his grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
Memorials may be given in his name to the Peace United Church of Christ Memorial Fund in Dorchester as requested by the family in lieu of flowers.
Marvin was born March 23, 1929, in the Town of Deer Creek, rural Stetsonville, the son of Henry and Emma (Carstensen) Steevens. He was a 1946 graduate of Medford High School.
Marvin and Joyce Tischendorf were united in marriage October 13, 1951, at Peace United Church of Christ in Dorchester, Wis. Together they farmed in the Town of Mayville until 1985. Joyce died November 6, 2006.
He delivered Clark County Meals on Wheels for more than 10 years and was a member of Peace United Church of Christ.
He is survived by his children, Mark (Patricia) Steevens, Marshfield, Debbie (Rodney) Romens, Dorchester and Kevin (Lisa) Steevens, Dorchester and one sister, Lucille Pitzke, Medford.
Marvin was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; a sister Geraldine Fierke; and two brothers, Jerome and Harvey Steevens.
