Niedzwiecki, Walter George (December 21, 1926 - January 4, 2007)

Walter George Niedzwiecki, age 80, of Owen, passed away January 4, 2007, at the Clark county Health Care Center following a brief battle with Cancer.

Walter was born December 21, 1926, in Chicago, IL, to Vincent and Agnes (Patelski) Niedzwiecki.

He is survived by his wife, Esther (nee Kangas), of Owen; two daughters, Carol (Niedzwiecki) Dougherty, of Hoffman Estates, IL; and Sue Niedzwiecki, of Gurnee, IL; step-children, Morris (Barb) Luke, of Hermantown, MN; and Ellen (Chris) Bailey, of Allen, TX; granddaughters, Marissa and Lindsey Dougherty; step-grandkids, Danielle Luke, Jack and Elise Bailey; two brothers, Ed Nedwick, of Ionia, MI; and Henry Niedzwiecki, of Barrington, IL; one sister, Helen Anzalone, of Eldon, MO; and a half-sister, Dorothy Nickey, of Rosemont, IL.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Bernice; his second wife, Elizabeth; and two brothers, Vincent and Stanley.

Visitation was held at the Maurina Funeral Home, Owen, on Sunday, January 7, 2007. Following that was a visitation at the G. L. Hills Funeral Home, Des Plaines, IL, with services at the All Saints Polish National Cathedral in Chicago and burial in the All Saints Polish National Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to Friends of the Old School, P.O. Box 102, Owen, WI. Walter was a long-time member of the American Legion Post #1037 in Chicago and St. Mary’s Polish National Church in Lublin.
