Garbisch, Lovella J. (November 7, 1913 - January 14, 2007)

Lovella Garbisch, age 93, of Granton, died Sunday, January 14, 2007 at the Memorial Health and rehabilitation Center in Neillsville, Wis.

Lovella J. Gotter was born on November 7, 1913 in the Town of Fremont, Clark County, the daughter of Albert and Emma (Moths) Gotter. She attended Poplar Grade School and graduated from the 8th grade. She had also mentioned going to German School. She was united in marriage to Melvin Garbisch on June 14, 1936 in Granton. They farmed their entire life on the Garbisch family farm and also raised their four children there.

Lovella was a lifetime member of the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Granton. She loved to garden, vegetables and flowers. She enjoyed doing embroidery and made many quilts with family and friends. She enjoyed reading; she liked to bake bread, rolls, cakes and pies and loved to make homemade meals.

She is survived by three daughters, Betty Mellon; Lois Garbisch; and Gloria Garbisch, all of Milwaukee, WI; one son, Wayne Garbisch, of Granton; a sister-in-law, Elsie Fricke, of Marshfield; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, in November of 1997; her mother, Emma Moths-Reisner; and step father, Charles Reisner; two sisters, Leona Sternitzky and Viola Gotter; and two brothers, Egon and Elmer Gotter.

Funeral services for Lovella will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 18, 2007 at the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod in Granton. Pastor John Trewyn will officiate. Music will be provided by Caroline Helm, pianist. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Granton. Visitation will be from 9:30 until 11 a.m., Thursday at the Church.

Casket Bearers are: Fritz Garbisch, Ronald Garbisch, Elmer Gotter, Vernon Sternitzky, Don Tykac, and Norman Wesenberg.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, W2880 Granton Rd., Granton, WI 54436

The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Lovella’s family with funeral arrangements.
