Misfeldt, Ruth Burnell (November 23, 1916 - January 7, 2007)
Ruth B. Misfeldt, age 90, of Thorp, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at the Chippewa Manor Nursing Home in Chippewa Falls.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thorp United Methodist church with Pastor Jim Altman officiating. Interment of cremains will be held at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Withee.
Ruth Burnell Zimmerman was born on November 23, 1916 in the Town of Byron, Fond du Lac County, WI to John and Laura (Steiner) Zimmerman. She graduated from Fond du Lac High School and attended college at Oshkosh for two years. In 1936, she moved to Thorp and was employed in the legal department of Thorp Finance Corporation for eighteen years. On October 18, 1952, Ruth was united in marriage to Galen G. Misfeldt at the Thorp United Methodist Church. Over the years, they continued to reside in Thorp where they raised their family.
In her spare time, Ruth loved to make crafts of all kinds. She was a member of the Thorp United Methodist Church and the UMW.
She is survived by her children: Mona R. La Vick of Eau Claire and Kurt L. Misfeldt of Chippewa Falls; two grandchildren: Monaca (fiancé Ben Cisetz) La Vick of Minneapolis, MN and Krystopher (Jenny) La Vick of Eau Claire; one great-granddaughter, Molly La Vick of Eau Claire and one sister, Lillian Davis of Verona, WI.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Galen in 1993; two brothers and one sister.
Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
