Awe, Martha (23 JUN 1915)
A pretty home wedding was solemnized at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Awe in the town of Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.), Wednesday, June 23, 1915, when their daughter Martha was united in marriage to Theodore Kippenhan of the town of Mead (Clark Co.).
Promptly at six o’clock in the evening the bridal party, attended by Misses Ruth Loos and Lena Kippenhan, and Calvin Franz and Arthur Awe, took their places in the parlor, where, in the presence of about two hundred guests, Rev. Otto Saewert of the German Reform Church, pronounced them man and wife.
The bride was attired in a gown of white and the groom in black.
After the ceremony a wedding supper was served and congratulations extended to the newlyweds.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Awe, a prosperous and estimable family. She is very popular among her friends and will be a helpful mate during life’s journey.
The groom is an aggressive young man of Mead and follows farming as a vocation.
