Reineking, Ella (14 SEP 1916)

On Thursday afternoon Sept. 14, 1916, at two o’clock, the marriage of Mr. Edward Steiger and Miss Ella Reineking was solemnized at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.W. Reineking. Rev. Hall of the German Reform Church officiated. With the first strains of the wedding march played by the bride’s sister, Miss Hilda Reineking, the bridal party descended the stairs and took their places under a large white bell. The house was very prettily decorated with yellow, white and pale green tissue paper, while asters, gladiolas, sweet peas and various other flowers were placed about the rooms. The bride was attired in a beautiful gown of white china silk trimmed with satin ribbon and carried a pretty bouquet of bridal roses and lilies of the valley. The bridesmaids were Miss Selma Reineking and Miss Cillia Kippenhan, and wore becoming gowns of pale yellow silk and carried yellow roses. The groom was attended by Ed Humke and the bride’s brother Arthur Reineking. After receiving congratulations of their friends and relatives, a delicious supper was served to many guests.

Both bride and groom are well known among the people of this vicinity and Greenwood. The bride is a popular young lady with a charming and affable disposition.

The groom is the youngest son of Mrs. August Steiger and is a prosperous and industrious young farmer.

The many gifts received speak of the esteem in which the bride and groom are held in this community. The Gleaner, together with their many friends, join in wishing them a pleasant journey and health, wealth and prosperity through life.

The guests from away were Mr. and Mrs. A. Sebastian and son of Milwaukee, Mrs. Margaret Fischer of LaCrosse, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Reineking and family, Miss Lydia Stock and Miss Ruth Boedeker, all of Elkhart Lake.
