The marriage of Miss Helen Cleveland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Cleveland of Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.), and Alfred Gemmeke of Greenwood took place at the home of the bride’s sister, Mrs. Ernest Riske in the town of Sherman (Clark Co.) Thursday afternoon, Nov. 24 at four o’clock; the Rev. K. E. Schmidt, pastor of St. Trinity Ev. Luth. Church of Spencer performing the ceremony. Their attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Riske. The wedding was a quiet one, only relatives and a few intimate friends being present. After the ceremony a wedding dinner was served.
The bride is a graduate of the Greenwood High School Class of 1921. She is well and favorably know in this community, having visited at the home of her sister many times. The groom formerly lived at Spokane, Wash., coming to Greenwood about a year ago, shortly after receiving an honorable discharge from the U.S. Army, in which he served 3 years.
The young couple will make their home at Greenwood.
