Polnaszek, Charlotte Claire (June 12, 1923 - January 10, 2007)
Charlotte Claire Polnaszek, age 83, of Thorp, WI died early Wednesday, January 10, 2007 at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley after a brief illness.
She was born on June 12, 1923 in Cudahy, WI to Agnes (Koscielniak) Frankwicz by whom she was raised along with her beloved step-father Steven Koldushko.
Charlotte met and married Edward Polnaszek of Thorp in June 24, 1944. They settled in Thorp and assumed the family business "The Club", later known as the Cardinal Bowl, for over 30 years. She held leadership roles with the Thorp Deanery, was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, member of Thorp Lioness, member of Thorp PCCW, and co-editor of the Thorp Centennial Christian Women’s Cookbook in 1983.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her husband Eddy, her parents, her eldest son David, and her grandson Ryan Galarowicz.
Charlotte is survived and remembered by her children: Eric (Cheryl) of Placentia, CA, Charles (Jennifer) of Eau Claire, Carol (Bill) Stasila of Thorp, Melani (Joseph) of Galarowicz of Appleton, Perry (Andrea) of Chippewa Falls; her daughter-in-law, Jane Gray of Hawthorn Woods, IL; her grandchildren: Heather (Brian) Dybing, Amber Polnaszek, Damen Polnaszek, Amy (Chris) Johnson, Alissa Greer, Wendy (Jason) Gonchar, Nathaniel (Cynthia) Polnaszek, Sara (Andrew) Weisensel, Craig (Laura) Stasila, Alison Galarowicz, Rebecca Galarowicz, Melissa Galarowicz, Jamie (Luke) Gower, Alex Polnaszek, Erin Polnaszek, Brock Polnaszek, Will Polnaszek, Isabelle Polnaszek, and Jael Polnaszek; her great-grand-children: Chase, Bryce & Jordan Johnson, Kayla, Teryn, & Damon Greer, Trinity & Genevieve Weisensel, and Avery Polnaszek.
Funeral services were held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Thorp at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 13. Burial followed at the Riverview Cemetery in Owen, Wis.
Visitation was from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday, January 12 at the Cuddie Funeral Home in Thorp.
She was much loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
