Davis, Irene (Marriage - 6 Sept. 1940)
Rev. William A. Baumann performed a wedding ceremony September 6, at 4:30 p.m. which united in marriage Irene Davis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Davis, Willard, and Gerhardt Foemmel, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Foemmel, Neillsville, rural route three, at the home of the groom’s parents. The double ring ceremony was used.
Garden flowers and pink and white streamers decorated the home. About twenty guests were present to witness the ceremony.
The bride wore a soldier boy blue crepe dress with matching accessories and a corsage of gladioli. Mrs. Ella Hoffman, sister of the groom, wore a wine-colored dress with matching accessories and a corsage similar to that worn by the bride. Frank Hoffman acted as best man.
Mr. Foemmel has always lived with his parents and will continue to assist his father on the farm, he and his bride having arranged an apartment in the Foemmel farm home where they will keep house.
Out-of-town guests at the wedding were: the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. A. Bruhn, Marshfield, and Miss Ella Foemmel, sister of the groom, Shawano.
