Locals
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kubak and niece of Chicago visited at the Albert Barton home Sunday evening.
Mr. and Mrs. Ed. Prock of Owen stopped to call on the Albert Barton family Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Mrs. Fred Hanan came from North Bend for a several days visit with her daughter, Mrs. Franklin Grap, and other relatives. The Grap family and their guest drove to Spencer Monday to visit another daughter of Mrs. Hanan, Mrs. Arthur Gall, and her family, Mrs. Hanan joining her husband the first of the week.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Peiper and daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wiertz, Minneapolis, arrived last week to call on their mother, Mrs. Lena Wiertz, and to take her to the city for a week’s visit.
Last Sunday a group of Neillsville friends drove to Reedsburg to spend the day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schroeder, where their five sons and daughters and their families gathered for a family reunion. The local visitors included: Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bartell, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hemp, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Degener, Mr. and Mrs. John Walk, Neillsville, and Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Zillmer and son, DuWayne, Granton. They also stopped at Tomah to call on Mrs. Charles Kelpe.
Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Haugen and Melvin Haugen of Baraboo, Wis., and Mrs. Joseph P. Haugen of Miami, Okla., spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Haugen and daughter, Shirley.
Mrs. Ella Poate of St. Paul arrived here the first of the week to visit her brothers, William Hurlburt and family, and niece, Miss Elsie Seager, for several days.
Mrs. William Swann returned home Tuesday after a week’s visit with her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Draper, at Loyal.
Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Fradette, Mr. and Mrs. Mack Fradette and Mrs. Stanley Schczygelski drove to Radisson Saturday afternoon to visit at the John Fradette home, returning Sunday evening.
Mrs. Frank Wing of Abbotsford spent this week, Wednesday, here with her mother, Mrs. Mary MacMillan and with her sister.
Earl Matteson and family of Cataract called on Mrs. E. L. Bradbury and other friends Sunday.
Dr. and Mrs. Ray Royer of Shawano made a brief visit with Neillsville friends. They lived here for a time several years ago.
Mr. and Mrs. Laurance Millard and son drove to Madison Wednesday where Mr. Millard is attending a convention for two days. Mrs. Millard and son went to Rewey to visit his folks.
Max Feuerstein and Earl Bruhn, who conduct the B. & F. Machine shop, on East Sixth Street, have purchased the two Lowe lots and buildings directly west of their shop. They plan to improve that section of the city by razing the buildings and cleaning up the lots, as time permits.
