Crago, Lewis J. (1869 - 26 Sept. 1940)
L. J. Crago, 71, Merrillan, who with his wife and son, Thomas, went to Denver, Col., about six weeks ago to spent the winter with their daughter, Mrs. Williams, and family, passed away quite suddenly Thursday, September 26. The body was brought to the home where funeral services were held Monday, the rites being largely attended. Interment took place at Merrillan.
Mr. and Mrs. Crago were married about 44 years ago, most of their married life being spent at Merrillan. Mr. Crago was baggage master of the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha railroad for many years, later conducting a hotel at Alma Center. He also owned and managed the Crago Theatrical Company, being quite successful in the show business. In all of these lines he was closely associated with the public and became widely known and was well liked.
He is survived by his wife (the former Minnie Young of Chili), the daughter and one sons mentioned above, and one sister, Mrs. Thomas Smale, Merrillan.
In attendance at the funeral from this city were: Mrs. Nora Trogner and sons, John and Neil, Mrs. Louis Cornest, Mrs. Henry Lindsley and C. E. Bartlett.
