Christensen, Ane K. (19 FEB 1862 - 9 JUN 1937)

Funeral services for Mrs. Jens Christensen, 75, who died Tuesday night, June 9, 1937, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George C. Jensen of Loyal (Clark Co., Wis.), were conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Jensen home. Rev. F. Leschensky of Loyal conducted brief rites, after which the body was taken to Withee where another service was held at two o’clock at the Danish Lutheran Church, of which Mrs. Christensen was a member. Rev. J. Holst officiated and burial took place at the church cemetery.

Ane K. Nielsen was born in Denmark Feb. 19, 1862, and was married there on July 27, 1886, to Jens Christensen. In 1888 she came with her husband to the United States, locating at Clifton, Ill., where they stayed until 1910 when they moved to Withee. Mr. Christensen died Dec. 25, 1918. Mrs. Christensen came to Loyal two years ago to make her home with her daughter because of ill health.

Surviving are the following children: Auena, who is a missionary in South India; Mrs. H.O. (Martine) Jensen, El Campo, Texas; Mrs. J.H. (Emma) McCoy, Minneapolis; and Carl Christensen and Mrs. George (Florence) Jensen, Loyal. One brother, Carl Nielsen, California, and eight grandchildren, also survive.
