Holte, Carlot (15 March 1883 - 2 Nov. 1940)

Carlot Holte passed away at the Neillsville Hospital Saturday, November 2, after a day’s illness with a heart attack.

Mr. Holte was born at Blair, Wis., March 15, 1883, to Carrie and Carl Mattson Holte. He grew to manhood there, coming to Neillsville in 1915. He was married to Mrs. Georgine Kapka Lynch of this city March 11, 1922. For many years Mr. Holte was employed in the P. M. Warlum Tinning and Plumbing shop but for the past several years he had been in business for himself.

Carlot Holte was a man of quite tastes, deeply devoted to his home and family. In his work he was equally sincere. His fairness as a man was judged in a large measure by the love and respect held for him by his step-daughter.

Mr. Holte is survived by his wife and daughter, (Dorothy), Mrs. Wilmer Meier, Neillsville; a brother, Willie Holte, Blair, and three sisters, Mrs. John Vannebo, Minneapolis; Mrs. Andrena Haugen, Blair, and Mrs. Hilma Anderson, Winona, Minn.

Funeral services were held at the Schiller Funeral Home Tuesday at 2 p.m., Rev. O. Asp, pastor of the Methodist Church officiating. Interment was made in the Neillsville Cemetery. The pallbearers were Cleve Evans, Ed. Zank, Wallace J. Landry, Harry Swanson, Harry Hague and Geo. Shaw.

He was a member of the E. F. U. Lodge, Neillsville, and of the Sons of Norway, Blair. He also was a member of the Norwegian Lutheran Church of that city.
