Granton

The Women’s Civic Club will meet with Mrs. Hugh Horswill on Wednesday, December 11, at 2:30 o’clock. The study topic "Our Economic Relations with South America" will be presented by Mrs. W. A. Trimberger. Members are asked to respond to roll call with a current event concerning South America. Following the study period the annual Christmas party with exchange of gifts will take place. Mrs. Alva Howard is in charge of the party arrangements.

Miss Lula Beecher has returned from a visit with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Wells Beecher in Janesville.

Mrs. R. H. Wink entertained the members of the RNA at her home Thursday night.

Myron Osgood, Racine, has returned to his work after spending several days here hunting.

Mrs. William Schmidtke was Loyal Wednesday where she attended the funeral of her great aunt, Mrs. Ella Stevens, formerly of Spokeville.

The first session of adult farmer night school was held at the high school Tuesday night, December 3, under the direction of C. A. Garthwaite, vocational agriculture teacher.

Mr. and Mrs. William Schmidtke spent Friday at Eau Claire where Mr. Schmidtke transacted business and Mrs. Schmidtke called on friends at the hospital.

Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Rausch, Stevens Point, spent Sunday with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Rausch. Mrs. Rausch, who was seriously ill, is somewhat improved.

Mrs. Edwin Jahr spent several days the past week visiting her brothers, Edwin and Edward and their families who live near the County Line.

Harold Bender, who has been employed near Columbia, is here for an extended visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gib Bender.

Peter Montgomery, Columbia, is visiting his mother, Mrs. Alice Montgomery and other relatives.

Mrs. Clara Reichert is visiting her niece, Mrs. Harley Seif and family in Neillsville, Wis.

Mrs. Walter Trimberger spent several days last week with her sister, Mrs. Odin Wang, who is a patient at the Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.

Member of the Romadka Homemakers Club were entertained at the home of Mrs. William Lehmann Wednesday. Miss Agnes Hed, home economics teacher of the Neillsville High School, was present and gave many helpful suggestions on making gifts at home. Mrs. Alva Howard was a guest at the meeting.

Mr. and Mrs. Fay Stratton returned to Milwaukee Sunday afternoon spending several days here visiting her mother, Mrs. Cora Converse.

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Mabie spent Monday afternoon in Greenwood.
