Warden, Harry (5 NOV 1873 - 11 NOV 1931)
Harry Warden died on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 1931, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chippewa Falls, Wis., aged fifty-eight years and six days. He was born near Mauston, Juneau Co., Wis., on Nov. 5, 1873, and about six months later his parents came to Thorp Township (Clark Co., Wis.), where he has since made his home. He was united in marriage on Aug. 25th, 1895, to Martha Holverson and leaves to mourn, his wife and eight children: Mrs. Oscar Isenberger of Eidsvold, Howard of Pittsburgh, Pa., Harold of Belle Pre, Ohio, Marjorie and Guy of Milwaukee, Stella, Jane, Olive and Theresa at home, also six grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Walter Brenner of Thorp, Mrs. Louis Hakes of Ruby, and Miss Edna Warden of Hammond, and four brothers, Guy of Eau Claire, Charles of Rib Lake, James of Gilman and Edward of Cornell. For the past nineteen years deceased has served as town clerk of the town of Thorp and for twenty-eight years as school district clerk. His cheerful life, his devotion to his family and kindness to everybody will long linger as a fragrant memory in the home which his presence brightened and which death has now darkened. Thought he is gone his record has been made and will remain with us as a lasting treasure.
The funeral took place from the old home north of Eidsvold on Friday afternoon, last at 1:30 p.m., followed by services at the Presbyterian Church at Stanley at 2:00 p.m., Rev. E.S. Gunung officiating. Interment in the cemetery at Stanley.
