Barr, Adelia (8 JAN 1851 - 3 MAR 1932)
Mrs. Abraham Anson Barr passed away on Thursday evening, March 3, 1932, at her home in this village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.) after but a few days illness, acute cholecystitis being the cause.
Adelia Fusee was born in Canada on Jan. 8, 1851 and had reached the age of 81 years, 1 month and 26 days. She was united in marriage to A.A. Barr in 1874 at Fargo, Mich., and in 1881 came to Thorp where she has since resided.
Deceased leaves to mourn two daughters, Mrs. W.E. Barrett of Thorp, Mrs. James Nelson of Owen, and one son, Fred Barr, of Bemidji, Minn.
Impressive funeral services were held at the house on Tuesday afternoon, after which all that was mortal of this grand old mother was tenderly conveyed to our silent city where by the side of a devoted husband who preceded her in death on April 30, 1931, she now rests in peace. The services were conducted by Rev. James Irish, local pastor of the M.E. Church.
To her the struggle and burden bearing of earth are ended, and we confidently trust that like one who awakes from a trouble dream she has awakened to see life’s endless morning break and knows herself at home with all the vast throng of loved ones, missed from earth, safe about her.
