Ogurek, Andrew W. (12 NOV 1861 - 26 MAY 1932)
Andrew W. Ogurek was born in Poland on Nov. 12, 1861 and passed away Thursday, May 26, 1932 at 10:10 a.m. after an illness of one month.
He came to America 52 years ago and was a resident of Taylor Co., Wis. for 29 years.
On July 2, 1889 he was married to Mary Brandt. Ten children were born to this union, of which eight survive him. They are Stanley J., John W., Mrs. N. Jeruzalski, Barbara L., Aloise A., Mrs. Gust Kazmierski, Leona W. and Mayland A. One daughter, Rosie passed away in infancy, and Celia, aged 24, passed away 22 months ago. His health steadily failed since the latter’s death.
He was a loving father and husband, a kind neighbor and respected by old and young. Besides his wife and children and 2 grandchildren, he leaves to mourn his untimely death, Mrs. John Poteracki, Mr. Joseph Ogurek, Sr. of Chicago, A.J. Ogurek of Lublin, John of Bellevue, Neb., and Sister Clara of St. Kunegunda’s Convent, Chicago. The oldest brother, Ignatz, preceded him in death on Dec. 9, 1931.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 30, 1932 at St. Mary’s Church, Lublin, Wis., Rev. Kedzierski officiating at the services. Interment was at the Polish Cemetery. The church was filled to overflowing with friends, relatives and neighbors who had come from far and near to pay their last respects. The funeral was the largest for some time. Pallbearers were Anton Pawlicki, Joseph Lemanski, Frank Kaliszewski, Sr., Adolph Burzynski, Louis Malecki and Joseph Robaczewski. Out of town relatives were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Brandt, Jr., Mrs. Frank Brandt, Sr., and daughter Jean, Mrs. Frances Brandt and son Leonard, Mr. John Kania, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kania, Mrs. Ig. Brandt and daughter Loretta, Mrs. Fr. Frydrychowicz and daughter Lorraine, Mr. Tony Kancer, Mr. Frank Ogurek and Mr. Joseph Ogurek Sr., Mr. Edward Planek and daughter Betty and Sr. Clara, all of Chicago; also John Ogurek, Sr., of Bellevue, Nebr., and Paul Madej of Withee.
May he rest in peace - he is gone, but not forgotten.
