Kueng, Arthur R. (21 Nov. 1909 - 18 Jan. 1941)

Arthur R. Kueng, 31, of the town of Pine Valley, passed away at the farm home of his mother, Mrs. Rosa Kueng, Saturday morning, January 18, with a stroke of paralysis which he suffered at 11 p.m. the evening previous.

Mr. Kueng was born November 21, 1909, at Wheeler, Wis., to Rudolph and Rosa (Schanks) Kueng. The family moved from Wheeler to Shullsburg and then to Neillsville in 1912, settling on the farm where they have since lived. Arthur attended the Happy Hollow School and also attended Neillsville High school for one year. On the farm he had been a most valuable assistant to his mother, Mrs. Kueng having conducted the farm, with the help of her children, except at sowing and harvesting time, since the death of her husband in 1920.

For the past six years the young man’s health had been very poorly, but he bore his affliction bravely, never giving up until forced to by his last illness.

He is survived by his mother, a sister, Laura, Mrs. Lawrence Irish, and a brother, Arnold W., Marshfield. Two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held at the Schiller Funeral Home at 2 p.m. January 21, Rev. G. W. Longenecker officiating. The remains were interred in the Neillsville Cemetery.

The pallbearers were Rex. Krejci, James Vincent, Raymond Northup, Charles Kupka, Marcus Hoesly and Charlie Korth.
