Withee, Charles (11 July 1862 - 23 Jan. 1941)

Neillsville friends were informed of the death of Charles Withee, which occurred at Long Beach, Calif., January 23. Burial took place there Monday.

He was a son of H. N. Withee, who was treasurer of Clark County from 1880 to 1893. The elder Withee built the house on North Grand Avenue which now is owned by the Robert Kurth, estate. The property still is spoken of as the "old Withee place" by older residents. It was built in the early 80’s (1880s).

A brother of Charles H. W. Withee, visited old friends here last July.
