Arch, Steven J. (23 DEC 1918 - 2 AUG 1944)
St. Sgt. Steven J. Arch was born Dec. 23, 1918 in the town of Eaton, Clark Co., Wis., son of Louis Arch and the late Elizabeth Wodanive Arch. He attended West Eaton School and high school for 1 ½ years.
On Feb. 20, 1941 he was inducted into the Army and spent some time in New Jersey and other camps and on Dec. 25, 1942 left for overseas.
He took part in the invasion of Italy and then returned to England where he spent several months and then he and his company were sent to France where he was wounded in action on July 20 and passed away on Aug. 2, 1944.
He is survived by his father Louis Arch, three brothers, Pfc. Wm. Arch, somewhere in Italy, Ernest at home and Frank of Milwaukee, and three sisters, Julia in Milwaukee and Elizabeth and Angeline at home.
