William A. Baumann performing the ceremony at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Neillsville, Wis. The double-ring ceremony was used. About 200 people witnessed the ceremony. Miss Doris Walther played the wedding march and Mrs. William A. Baumann and Mrs. A. Jaster sang: "Take Thou My Hands and Lead Me."
The bride wore a gown of white taffeta, with a full-length veil and a crown of pearls. Her bouquet consisted of roses and calla lilies. Her attendants, Miss Elsie Genetman, Neillsville, sister of the bride, wore a blue taffeta gown, while the groom’s sister, Miss Mathilda Schoenherr, Chicago, wore pink taffeta. Their flowers were pink and white larkspur. Valentine Neubecker, a friend of the groom, and Carl Schoenherr, the groom’s brother, were best man. Marcus Baumann and Lewis Oelke acted as ushers.
The bride’s mother wore a blue crepe dress, the mother of the groom wearing wine net. Both wore corsages of pink carnations.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. Pink, blue and white streamers, a white wedding bell, roses and larkspur decorated the home.
The couple will be at home on the groom’s farm in the town of Levis where he had lived for some time. They plan to take a trip next fall after the harvest season.
The bride attended Neillsville high school and assisted with the work at home. Active in 4-H club work, she has been the leader of the Meadow View club for a time. The groom attended the rural school in his home community, most of his life being spent on the farm.
