Announce engagement

Mrs. Clyde Darlin Carter of Washburn, Wis., announces the engagement of her sister, Inga-Irene, Neillsville, to Andrew Bertrand Powers, Duluth, Minn.

Miss Corgan is a graduate of Superior State Teachers’ College, in the class of 1935. She attended post graduate schools at the Universities of Minnesota and Wisconsin, majoring in sociology. She formerly was a staff member of the Wisconsin state reformatory for women at Taycheedah and assistant principal of the Milladore state graded school for two years, before coming to Neillsville, where she taught junior high school, English and history. She is a member of Alpha Kappa Sorority.

Mr. Powers is president of the Propeller club of the port of Duluth-Superior, and heads of the service relations department of the Minnesota-Atlantic Transit company, with offices at Duluth, Minneapolis, Buffalo and Detroit. He is well known in business and marine circles at the head of the lakes.

The wedding will take place early in June.
