Schoengrund, Evelyn E. (1 JUN 1938)
A very pretty June wedding was held last week Wednesday, June 1st at 2:30 in the afternoon, when Miss Evelyn Esther Schoengrund, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Schoengrund, Town of Unity and Edwin Emil Ertl, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Ertl, Town of Brighton, were joined in holy wedlock.
The marriage took place at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church at Romeo, the Rev. H. Hinz performing the ceremony.
The bride was attired in a floor length gown of white satin and wore a long veil. She carried a bridal bouquet of red roses, white carnations, snapdragons and ferns.
The maid of honor was Marcella Schoengrund, sister of the bride, who wore pink Gossamer sheer net. The bridesmaid, Esther Ertl, sister of the groom wore yellow Gossamer sheer net. Both carried bouquets of roses, carnations, and ferns similar to the bride’s bouquet.
The groom wore an oxford gray suit and his attendant Arnold Ertl, brother of the groom, and Rueben Litka wore blue suits.
The ushers were Raymond Ertl and Lester Bruesewitz.
Immediately following the ceremony about 40 guests gathered at the home of the groom’s parents which was decorated in white, pink and yellow.
The bridal couple went immediately to farming on the Wm. Schultz farm in the Town of Sherman.
