Clark, Sophronia (16 Feb. 1862 - 27 June 1941)
Mrs. Sophronia Clark passed away at her home in Merrillan June 27, 1941, at 6:45 a.m. after a long illness with heart trouble and other complications. She was the eldest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Cook and a sister of Lon Cook, all of whom at one time lived in the town of Hewett.
The departed was born in Springfield, Seneca County, Ohio, February 16, 1862, emigrating to Neillsville, Wis. with her parents when she was five years of age.
She was married to Henry Clark September 28, 1978, at Black River Falls. To this union four children were born, namely; Hugh of Merrillan, Wis., and Frank of Butte, Montana; a pair of twins dying in infancy. She leaves to mourn her loss, her two sons, a sister, Sarah, Mrs. Joe Radek, Puyallup, Wash., two brothers, Will Cook, Centralia, Wash., and Ray Cook, Shelton, Wash., also eleven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Clark passed away about 9 years ago. He was a dealer in real state and also did farming.
Frona, as she was generally known among her relatives and friends, was very fond of her home, a beautiful housekeeper.
The remains were laid to rest beside her husband in the Merrillan cemetery June 30th, services being held from the Methodist church, Rev. Allison officiating.
