Barr, Olive Sylphia (July 20, 1908 - Jan. 5,1933) (Note: Death year in question as it came from a 1933 issue of the Humbird Enterprise.)
Olive Sylphia Barr was born July 20, 1908, near Humbird, daughter of William and Nettie Barr, and died Jan. 5, 1933, at the home of her uncle, Fred Barr, where she had lived the past six months. During her long illness she was most cheerful and uncomplaining, and was tenderly cared for by those with whom she lived. When Olive was a few days past one year old, the mother died, leaving her and her sister Vivian in the care of their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barr. At the age of seventeen years she contracted infantile paralysis, which left her in poor health until her death. She had been to Arizona to regain her health, but without avail, and returned last June. She reached the age of 24 years, 5 months and 16 days. Mourning her death are her father, who lives in Montana, a sister, Mrs. Vivian Lanners, of Chippewa Falls; her grandmother, Mrs. Robert Barr; a half brother, and two half sisters in Montana; several aunts and uncles; besides numerous other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church last Sunday afternoon, many relatives and friends attending. Rev. Geo. W. Vaughan officiated. Burial was in the family plot in Mentor cemetery.
