Thorp Locals
Three hundred and eleven children of school age are listed in the 1941 school census of Thorp and towns of Withee and Reseburg, according to the Thorp Courier. The total includes 167 boys and 144 girls.
Kathleen Mae Walker, five-months-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Walker, died of suffocation recently. A rubber blanket, under which she was sleeping July 31 was found over her head.
Joseph Wilcenski was in critical condition late last week after a gangrenous leg had been amputated above the knee.
Betty Baldeschwiler has returned from an extended visit with relatives in Chicago and Mendota, Ill.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bobb have been visiting friends and relatives in southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.
Mrs. Ida Howard has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Joe Patchak, at Sheboygan Falls.
Henry Fischer left for the harvest fields last week.
