Manz, Paul C. (March 30, 1939 - February 22, 2007)
Paul C. Manz, age 67, passed away peacefully at home in Oakland, California on February 22, 2007.
Paul was born in Black River Falls, on March 30, 1939, grew up in Neillsville (graduated from Neillsville High School in 1957) and then attended and graduated from Lawrence University, Appleton, Wisconsin. There he met his wife and loved playing varsity football. He continued to support Lawrence by working on recruiting new students, fundraising, and serving on the Alumni Board. He was president of Garden City Transportation, Inc., Hayward, California from 1984 to 1995 and president of the California Trucking Association in 1994. He then returned to the job he loved best - driving a truck. He was last employed at Roadshow Services, Inc., San Francisco, CA.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Myrna; two sisters, Mary (George) Bruno, of Chicago, IL, and Katherine Cowett, of Pawtucket, RI; a brother, Peter (Carolyn) Manz, of Hatfield; and seven nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Dr. Kenneth and Elinor Manz, former of Neillsville, Wis.
A gathering for family and friends will be held at a future date.
