CRASH KILLS LOYAL MAN Paul Bugar owned local trucking firm.
Town of Wood--A head-on collision near Pittsville March 3 killed two people, including a town of Loyal man.
Paul R. Bugar, 77, was a passenger in a car driven by Barbara Bugar, 74. Their car was heading southbound Highway 13 near County Road C early in the afternoon of March 3, when it was stuck by a car driven by Raymond J. Devine, 69, Wisconsin Rapids.
According to the Wood County Sheriff's Department, Devine's car crossed the center line and struck the car being driven by Bugar.
All three persons were transported to Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, where Paul Bugar and Devine were ponounced dead. Barbara Bugar remains in critical condition.
"The cause is still under investigation," Said Lt. Robert Levendoske of the Wood County Sheriff's Department.
Paul Bugar was the owner of Paul Bugar Trucking, Inc. in Loyal, which he founded more than 50 years ago. He also ran Bugar Brothers Construction with his brother, Leo, and started a gravel crushing business.
Funeral services for Bugar will be March 10 at 11 a.m. at St. Anthonly's Catholic Church in Loyal. Visitation will be March 9 from 4-8 p.m. at St. Anthony's, and from 10 a.m. until time of service March 10.
