Smital, Ruth (19 DEC 1929)
Miss Ruth Smital, daughter of Mr. Bernard Smital, and Mr. Maurice Halverson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Halverson, both of the town of Holway, were united in marriage yesterday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the Evangelical Parsonage. Rev. P.F. Walter officiated and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Raasch acted as witnesses.
After the ceremony they repaired to the home of Mr. Halverson’s aunt, Mrs. Charles Berry, where a dainty six o’clock dinner was served to the close friends and relatives.
Ruth is known to part of our readers as she, with her father, attended church here and is a quiet, kindly young lady and though we don’t know the groom, we’re sure she picked a winner. She attended high school at Medford, but after the marriage of her sister she assumed the care of brightening and caring for the home for her father, her mother having died when the girls were small.
The groom has lived and farmed in Holway country, except for 3 years spent in Chicago, and they expect to live in the beloved country they both know and love so well.
We predict for them a very happy future and offer our heartiest congratulations.
