NEILLSVILLE - Thomas Raymond Ziehr, 63, of Neillsville died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville, Wis.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Tuesday at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville, Wis. Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
He was born in Eau Claire to Dr. Raymond H. and Mary (Blumenthaler) Ziehr. He taught school at Don Boscoe High School in Milwaukee, and then at the Merten School District in Merten. In 1980, he earned a Fulbright Scholarship and taught in England as an exchange teacher from 1980 to 1981. After returning from England, he went back to the Merten School District and taught, until retiring in 1994. Tom moved to Neillsville in the summer of 1995 to be with his mother. While in Neillsville Tom was a substitute teacher for the Neillsville School District.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Ziehr of Neillsville; a brother, James (Phyllis) Ziehr of Madison; and two sisters, Marlene (James) Dunigan of Stevens Point, and Jeannine (Jerry) Draves Dodgeville. Tom is also survived by nieces, nephews and great-nieces.
