Elizabeth "Betty" J. Lewien, 74, of Thorp died Friday, Oct. 21, 2005, at Our Lady of Victory Hospital in Stanley.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery on a later date.

Visitation will be held at Thorp Funeral Home from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday.

She was born July 2, 1931, in Lake City, Minn., the daughter of Richard and Nora (Holt) Quade. She was united in marriage to Steve J. Lewien on Sept. 5, 1953, in Zumbrota, Minn. He preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 2003. She worked for many years at the Thorp Midland Coop.

Survivors include her six children, Richard and Steve Lewien Jr., both of Thorp, Fred (Marsha) Lewien of Neenah, David (Mary) Lewien of Ellsworth, Paul Lewien of Thorp and Mary (Al) Stouff of Medford and eight grandchildren.
